Britton is growing so tall so fast his skinny body can't keep up. He outgrows clothes faster than the season's can change. Having a teenager has been quite an experience. Challenging at times, worrying about his future, watching him grow into a young man. It's been a learning experience for Jim and I to say the least. How much space do you let him have, what to say in difficult situations, keeping our cool when you have to argue about the same thing for the millionth time when we are obviously not as smart as him. Feeling guilty because I usually don't keep my cool, don't say the right thing and feeling like I'm running out of time.
*sighhh. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I remind myself that he is a good kid, has good friends, makes good choices when it matters, gets good grades, has excellent goals and is working hard on them. Britton wants to be an Architect or Civil Engineer like my dad and is taking pretty tough IB, AP and honor courses in hopes to get a scholarship to a good college. I'm to young for this! |
